The man behind the plan
For 15 years, Dr. Brad Rodu has been involved in research and policy development regarding tobacco harm reduction. He is a professor of medicine at the University of Louisville, holds an endowed chair in tobacco harm reduction research, and is a member of the university’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
Dr. Rodu’s research has been published in a broad range of medical and scientific journals, including Nature, American Journal of Medicine, Epidemiology, Nicotine & Tobacco Research, and International Journal of Cancer. He authored the book, For Smokers Only: How Smokeless Tobacco Can Save Your Life; served as an expert witness at a 2003 Congressional hearing on tobacco harm reduction; and has spoken at numerous international forums, including one in the British Houses of Parliament.
Dr. Rodu’s research is supported by unrestricted grants from tobacco manufacturers to the University of Louisville, and by the Kentucky Research Challenge Trust Fund. Learn more.
